ABOUT
Welcome! Solace Telepsychiatry is a solo private practice managed by Dr. Catherine R. Wu, DNP. This practice is based in beautiful Seattle, Washington, and offers psychiatric treatment and medication management services with a touch of integrative and complementary therapies to adults (18+).
I am a doctorally-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). I utilize a holistic, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and collaborative approach to managing a variety of mental health conditions requiring medication treatment.
Although I specialize in psychiatric (medication) treatment, I value integrative and complementary therapies and will offer these options alongside medications when requested or indicated.
Additionally, I offer visits primarily via Telemedicine. In doing so, I aim to increase access to psychiatric care with the use of Telepsychiatry, an evidence-based healthcare delivery model. This model worked well in offering a safe means to deliver care during the COVID-19 pandemic, however, it may not be appropriate for everyone.
Please be advised that this practice does not offer crisis services and or after-hours crisis care. If you are in crisis, please dial 9-1-1, present to the nearest Emergency Department, and/or contact the Crisis Clinic 24/7 at 1-866-427-4747 and https://www.crisisconnections.org/ for help today.

APA Position Statement on Telemedicine in Psychiatry
"Telemedicine in psychiatry, using video conferencing, is a validated and effective practice of medicine that increases access to care. The American Psychiatric Association supports the use of telemedicine as a legitimate component of a mental health delivery system to the extent that its use is for the benefit of the patient, protects patient autonomy, confidentiality, and privacy; and when used consistent with APA policies on medical ethics and applicable governing law. (APA Committee on Telepsychiatry, Approved February 2018)."
